February 2025 Newsletter
I had a client ask me at one of my somatic practices if I could write out a document to pass out at my classes with all the information I give during the class. She said she wanted to follow a cyclical way of living but had a hard time remembering all the details. I decided to include the information in this newsletter. I hope it encourages all women to live cyclically and I hope it helps. Always remember to listen to your body and if you feel this information goes against what your body is telling you then do what your body says. Also, if you are only reading my emails for my juicy self-care offerings, then scroll down to the bottom. Lots of upcoming self-care ahead. Without further ado here is the first phase of woman’s cycles. The rest will come out in the following newsletters. Â
Cycle Phase Information
Menstrual Phase
 Inner winter, new moon, crone, release and rebirth ~ days 1-6. This is a good time to slow down and cleanse our bodies. Skip the gym this week. Also consider skipping alcohol, caffeine, sugar and fatty foods. *Tip- keep uterus and feet warm during this phase. Wear socks, slippers. No crop tops. Heating pads, warming blankets on feet or uterus are helpful. Â
Foods to eat during this phase- You want to eat warm hearty foods in this phase. High in minerals (dark leafy greens, seaweed, seafood, liver, bone broth, nettle tea), high in protein (legumes, seafood, collagen, meats, nuts, seeds, broccoli), high in magnesium (dark leafy greens, raw cacao paste, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, brown rice), warming foods (soups, stews, warming tonics, spices(ginger, curry, cloves, cayenne)), anti-inflammatory foods (turmeric, white willow bark, hemp seeds, cloves, ginger, bone broth), grains ( wild rice, buckwheat, oats), protein ( beef, cold-water fish, liver, pork, duck), veggies (avocado, garlic, tomato, spinach, beets, kale, mushroom, nori, kelp), Fruit (black berries, mango, blueberries), beans, nuts and seeds (kidney, lentils, cashews, pumpkin, flax), spices (turmeric, cayenne, cinnamon, cumin, salt).
Exercise during this phase- rest, walking, yin yoga, restorative yoga
Teas-Days 1-14 Nettle Tea. Days 15-30 Dandelion tea
Seed Cycling (I highly recommending researching and adding this to your everyday habits)-Days 1-14 or new moon to full moon (if you no longer bleed)-pumpkin or flax seeds (2 TB/ day). Day 15-30 or full moon to new moon (if you no longer bleed)-sunflower or sesame seeds (2 TB/day).

February 3rd, 10th and 24th at 11 AM- mindfulness and movement at Lincoln Park Public Library. These classes are totally FREE. Please do not let the price, or lack thereof, make you feel these classes are not beneficial. These practices were the backbone of my healing. Â
February 4th, 11th, 18th, and 25th at 1 PM-mindfulness and movement at Shaolin Temple USA 6345 N. Newburgh Rd. Westland. Classes are $25 each but if you make it to all four your final class will be ½ off. Â
February 12 at 11 AM-full moon ritual. Spiritual exchange is $22 but contact me if funds are a problem. No one will be turned away. Â
